THANK YOU all who have contributed
to the book "WHAT DOES A FRIEND DO?"

THE BOOK «WHAT DOES A FRIEND DO?»

Children and youth from 26 different countries have submitted their drawings and brief texts in response to the theme: «What is a friend doing?», for publication in a book. Unfortunately editing and production of this book has been delayed due to reasons outside ECHO 2012´s control. We are working hard to get the publishing process on track again. The children and youth have sent important messages, giving inspiration to promote friendship across country borders. The drawings they have submitted can be viewed on this link.

«TWIN PICTURES» SHOWN ON «CHILDREN`S  DAYS»

On November 7th - 8th , 2009 children from Poland and Norway «met each other» via «Twin Pictures» shown on Concerts Norway ´s « Children´s Days» in Oslo. The concept was implemented through a two-ways interactive video-conference communication system, where children in one country could see live video of children in the other country, projected on large a canvas. They could talk to each other and simultaneously paint (contours) on the canvas of the video-pictures they saw, thus creating very interesting novel art work. This was a cooperation project, where «Childrens days», «Art Studio KAMELON - MDK (Pracownia Plastyczna KAMELON - MDK)», «Art Studio WALOR - MDK (Pracownia Plastyczna WALOR - MDK)» and «The Oslo School of Fine Arts » were participating.

«TWIN PICTURES» - PICTURES CREATING COMMUNICATION AND FRIENDSHIP

ECHO 2012 will create an arena for promoting friendship across national borders. We will develop tools for creating «meeting venues», using art works and digital communications media. In 2010 we plan to establish a project, where children from 5 continents of the world can meet online through interactive video communication. The tools (movie trailers and PDF-documents) we are going to develop, will be designed for use (free of charge) by schools, youth clubs and relevant organizations, wanting to participate in the forthcoming international cooperation efforts for friendship promotion.
